Wellness Beyond the Physical

Welcome!

Today kicks off the 45 Days of Wellness series, that will take us into 2021. The goal behind this series? Simple. Wellness has always been at the core of our lives. Whether we recognize it or not, wellness is so much more than our physical health, and uncertainty and unhappiness in one area of wellness, can impact others. This series will dive into all of these areas, and provide practical tools and strategies to assist with each.

These days, for many people, wellness is suffering like never before. And, at unprecedented levels, and in many areas, with unprecedented lack of support. A grim picture? Yes. Can we do something to offer support? H*** yes!! Our strength lies in sharing our stories, skills and abilities with others, and the creation of wellness support community.

I invite you to join myself and some great guest speakers over the next 45 days, to learn more about all areas of wellness, how the areas connect, and most importantly, how these areas can be positively impacted, should you wish them to be.

Today, the journey begins with an outline of the 6 areas of Wellness, as laid out by the Certified Coaches Federation Six Components of Optimal Living, including their definitions (and in no particular order of importance):

  • Physical Wellness includes our overall physical health, including fitness, nutrition, illness etc..

  • Spiritual Wellness can be defined as living in alignment with one's beliefs and values, finding a purpose in one's life, finding meaning in life's events as well as being connected to something greater than yourself.

  • Relationship Wellness is a measure of all of one’s relationships, including romantic, friends, family etc.

  • Emotional Wellness refers to one’s overall emotional well-being and mental health.

  • Professional Wellness includes one’s overall professional status and their feelings and expectations about this.

  • Financial Wellness is a measure of overall financial status and stability and the client’s feelings and expectations here as well.

To begin, we will be diving in to some Emotional Wellness as we look at the idea of perfectionism with a blog share tomorrow and a Zoom webinar Monday, November 23, 2020, 8pm EST.
