Trick or Treat!
Yes it is just around the corner! It can be a season of having candy around the house 24-7! So, how do we ensure that our healthy nutrition plans are kept in check with so much temptation? Here are a few thoughts:
1) Choose things for trick-or-treaters that are not edible-try Halloween themed pencils or erasers.
2) Buy things that you don’t like! If you love chocolate but are lukewarm about candy, buy candy for the little ghosts and goblins so you aren’t interested in eating it.
3) If you seem to be heading towards having leftovers as the night slows down, give it away! Load up those last few visitors or take it in to your office the next day to share.
4) Wait until the day before Halloween to buy your candy so it’s not staring at you for the next week.
The good news is that Halloween treats are usually portion controlled since they are smaller in size. So, indulge in one or two to treat yourself! And whatever you choose, make sure you keep moving!
Happy Halloween!
