Feeling Chaotic? This Can Help.

Are there moments in your week where you feel completely overwhelmed with “to-dos” and don’t even know where to start?

Grab those moments and make note of them. Why?

They can be the key to moving toward feeling more calm and in control.

As a Life Coach, who specializes in helping folks with their time management, among other things, understanding WHY we feel like we don’t ever have enough time is key to creating change.

One of the tools I urge people to consider is using the idea of a “Sunday Set-Up”. Note: I know not everyone’s week starts on Sunday. This idea can be applied to any “start date” you decide.

Calendar chaos can, many times, be prevented.

The most common moments of chaos for many are in the morning, around breakfast time/’getting out the door’ time, and in the evening around dinner time, right?

You know the ‘grabbing everything you think you’ll need for the day, wondering what you forgot and if you’re going to get where you’re going on time’ feeling in the morning?

And then the ‘just got home and are feeling pooped but you still have to figure out what’s for dinner’ time in the evening?

These moments can be much more calm if you use the Sunday Set-Up idea. Take 30 mins on Sundays (or whenever your week starts for you) and list:

-what is for breakfast each morning*

-what is for dinner each evening*

(*planning these out when you do your grocery shop is ideal so you’ll have everything on hand)

And then finally, either physically lay out your clothes, or list what you need/want to wear each day and make sure those are clean and ready to go.

These may seem like little tasks, or may even seem too small to be effective, BUT imagine the peace you’d feel if you were to walk in the bedroom and pick up your outfit that is already laid out, move into the kitchen, and know exactly what you need to grab for breakfast (AND have a “to-take” list for your day….that’s for another blog!).

Still not sold? Give it a try for a few weeks and let me know how it goes!

Cheering you on,

Deanna
