#23thingslearnedin23years Purpose, passion and…type writers???
Good morning! Today’s #23thingslearnedin23years comes in the form of a follow up to the video shared on Saturday about the importance of knowing your why/deciding on your purpose. Have a look at Facebook or LinkedIn’s video from Saturday, January 25 if you missed it.
First, as I’ve been asked about where to start to dig into this idea. I have a few suggestions:
-head to my website. scroll to the bottom of any page, and subscribe. To you will be delivered a tool that I used personally on my journey as well have used in workshops on this topic (https://www.deannalangfordcoaching.com/ )
-stay tuned for a four-part workshop series that will kick off March 7 (more info to come this week)
-Book a free session with me to chat about where you are on this journey and clarify your next steps. ( https://www.deannalangfordcoaching.com/booking )
Adding to this idea of finding your purpose, I must add the following critical points:
-your “why” can be seen as a “life’s purpose” for sure. Consider though, that is HEAVY! So, if that isn’t yet clear, or feels too big, work on defining your purpose in smaller more micro steps. For example, today’s purpose?, this week’s?, for the month of February?, for 2020? Smaller, more bite sized pieces are easier to work with. Once you see the momentum created with achieving smaller steps, you’ll naturally be ready to tackle larger items. And, the only way you’re going to find out if something is for you, is to give it a try! Thinking about learning a new skill will not help you experience that skill and decide if its for you.
-for those looking for career purpose, we must find our passion for sure. Additionally, we must match our passion with our skills and abilities (or define this as an area for growth if you don’t yet have those skills). Also, work to discover what the market going to support? If your passion is type-writer repair, I am not sure that there is a demand in the market for this service. And now I wonder, how many folks reading this are wondering what a type writer is?!?
I hope this sparks some new thoughts and considerations. I would love to hear about the things you are working on. Reach out if I can be of service to help support this path of growth.
Make it a great Monday!
